How the mighty have fallen

although some would say after the 1990's he's fallen

But wowee have they fallen so hard that they can't even make good drawings anymore


Personally I think he's degraded after the end of The Ripping Friends, but none other than John "rapes girls and threatens employees for his own unprofessionalism" Kricfalusi is the only artist I know where I can say for sure that he's lost his ability to draw

You could've said that about Butch Hartman but I would say his early 90's crap wasn't the best either and still showed problems persisting in his later work



But I digress, to show you what I mean

I present to you the cow bear drawing good ol Raymond Spum did in our previous lord and savior 2023 

God is this horrid to look at. It's like if someone AI generated Yogi Bear as a cowboy and decided "hey, this is what real design and cartoons look like". If he tried to make a new cartoon again (which won't happen) than no executive, not even the good ones, are gonna pick up your half assed Yogi ripoff pilot because it looks very unprofessional. Other than looking like a 9th grader's first adobe illustrator project, the art and design lacks appeal. Granted I'm not a scientist of what makes an appealing design but this design I would argue has too much looseness and inconsistency to it. Lets take an old version of Yogi Bear that John K made

Now look at this

See, Yogi here is more appealing and well rounded as a design, not to mention has actual construction in his body as apposed to his newer Yogi crap. I can conceive what expression that Yogi can make not to mention when he goes off model, it's not to loose to where you can't conceive that it's Yogi.

Too speak his language, BBRW Yogi is not Weird for Weird Sake, his new 2023 Cowboy Yogi is Weird for Weird Sake

You could argue, oh he's making is art more loose

followed by, it's a stylistic choice

or he's a professional artist, he can get away with that stuff (which I argue you can't)

To that I say no, when you're professional artist, sure you can be as lenient with yourself as you want because you came so far and have got the knowledge on how to draw from learning from experience in the industry. But I would still say if you dedicated your life to telling people how to correctly draw or how to make "real cartoons" like John K does 24/7, than you would have to listen to your own advice (especially when you made a clear definition of what you want in cartoons). You could say that "oh his thought can change" but if that's true, you'd think he would've talked about it on his blog or even say later on to "do whatever you wanted and fuck my rules".

All in all, there should be no excuse for John to fall from grace this badly, especially since he wasted a good portion of his blog to providing tidbits on how to make a proper cartoon let alone make good cartoony drawings. He taught people appeal, stylization, and structure in characters, the principles of character design even. 

Why won't you listen to your own words if you wasted time writing them down

All in all, John has really lost his edge, luster, and appeal as an artist

And if you don't know, He also rapes girls along with being hard to work with, but you didn't need me to tell you that


All in all, John fell off as an artist (as the kids would say)
